The process takes between 10 - 20 sessions, depending on how far advanced your project is and if any strengthening skills are required (for example, you may feel you need extra time on interviewing skills, so we would do more role plays). I work to a structure and I always adapt to my client's needs. Career guidance is a partnership for the duration of the sessions.

Time for a change?

Part of my career as a psychologist has been vocational guidance. I have a four-part process which investigates your personality, motivations and values-system and then delves into your aptitudes, to see whether these are on track with your future career choices and, in case there is a gap, we explore ways in which we can get you there in the shortest posssible time. In order to do this I use the SOSIE (English version, of course) published by the ECPA (the major test publisher in France) and I use a series of cognitive aptitudes tests that is tried and tested, via an online platform (in-test.net). The second part of the process is exploring your competencies in-depth so we analyse all your previous work experiences, what you liked about them and didn't like, what you were good at. We also explore all options for future career choices, even if you came to me with a specific set of options in mind, these may be altered as you find out more and more about yourself during the process. Sometimes, clients come with just one career option. This is risky, so we would explore Plan B, C and D together at this stage. The third part: we develop an action plan with concrete goals. We also work on your CV and interview strategy (if required) or explore vocational training options in-depth if training is required. The fourth part is a feedback session which brings it all together.

Guidance

I also provide orientation for adolescents who are still at school or about to enter the job-market. For year 11 or 12 students who are still wondering what they want to do after finishing school, I have a 3 session process that involves a personality, motivation and interests profile, vocational exploration and information-gathering session. For university students or highschool students who know what they want to do but don't know exactly where to start, I provide help in CV construction and interview training.
